Childrens Rehabilitation Support worker

Salary: £ 13

Location: Leeds

Work hours: Part time, full time

Shift pattern: Afterschool, weekends, and potentially waking nights if successful on day shifts.

Are you an experienced and compassionate Support Worker with a minimum of 6-months UK based healthcare experience.

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of Yorkshire Community Healthcare who are looking for an experienced Childrens Rehabilitation Support Worker, to work with an 8-year-old boy in Leeds. He has an acquired brain injury, Learning disability complex health needs. He is a very active and fun young boy, who enjoys lots of active and fun play, whilst he has communication difficulties he is developing in this area and can make his wishes and needs known.

What you'll be doing:

Encourage the client's active lifestyle, including leisure activities.
Delivering lots of play therapy and interaction.
Providing respite for the parents
Ensuring high standards of personal hygiene are maintained.
Providing clinical assessment and intervention as required.
Create a positive and engaging environment through companionship and social interactions.
Build a strong and trusting relationship with the client supporting him and his family to achieve the rehabilitation and life goals.

Requirements:

Right to work in the UK
A minimum of 6-months UK based health or social care experience is essential
Compassionate and patient nature with excellent communication skills
Enthusiastic and outgoing personality to connect with the client and create a positive atmosphere
UK valid driving license, access to reliable car, business insurance and happy to transport the client in your car

Note: All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
