Registered Manager LD – Children’s Home
Durham – Free Parking
This is an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Home LD Registered Manager to join the company. This is a rare opportunity to join a progressive and trauma informed group of Children’s homes. Specializing in the care for young people with learning difficulties.
The role
* Working in a beautiful and comfortable, homely home with an emphasis on providing a safe environment with strength-based care and emotional attachment to all children.

* This role is a leadership role, responsible for managing the residential home
* Ensuring all children and staff are sufficiently safeguarded, supervised and mentored
* Managing team members
* Maintaining high standards
* Statement of purpose and statutory paperwork is reflective of the practice
* Taking an empathetic and engaging approach to working in partnership with young people, their families, professionals, and other agencies, to meet the needs of young people
* Training staff members
* Co-ordinating staff rotas and to ensure efficient back up resources are available in emergency/out of hours situations and including participation in an out of hours on call rota when necessary
* Recruiting staff, conducting inductions, wellness, disciplinary, grievances
* Financial budgets, control, administration, and records comply
* To ensure paperwork in the Home is accurate, reflective and evidences the progress the children make within the home
* Producing paperwork
* Care plans, risk assessments and behavior support plans
* Health and Safety regulations are adhered
Essential for the role
Must have experience in Residential Children’s social care
Minimum of 2 years’ experience, ideally as a Residential Manager or Deputy Manager or senior member of staff
12 months min spent in a supervisory or management role
Be able and willing to pass an Ofsted Fit person interview
Understanding of The Children’s Home regulations and legislation
An understanding of Trauma informed care and therapeutic background
A working knowledge of PACE is an advantage or willingness to learn
