Make a Difference: Children's Home Manager

Location: Mitcham, South West London

Salary: £68,000 - £70,000

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 5 Children's Home Manager to lead our team in providing a nurturing and secure environment for young people aged 16 and over.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's home
Ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of all young people in our care
Leading and motivating a team of childcare staff, providing them with guidance, support, and training.
Develop and implement care plans for each resident, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
Fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Liaising with external agencies, including social services and schools and healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated care.
Maintaining a high standard of care in accordance with Ofsted regulations
Manage the home's budget and resources effectively
Complete all necessary documentation and reports, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation and best practices in childcare.
Attend meetings and participate in training opportunities to further develop professional skills.

£68,000 - £70,000

About you:

Level 5 Qualification: In most cases, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or an equivalent qualification)
Ofsted Experience: Understanding and experience working with Ofsted regulations is crucial for ensuring the home meets quality standards
You have a minimum of 2-5 years' experience working in a senior role within a residential children's setting
Proven experience working with young people aged 16+ with complex needs
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with an enhanced DBS check required
Social Work Qualification: A social work qualification or relevant experience can be a plus
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate staff teams with strong communication skills
First Aid: Being First Aid trained is a benefit
