Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire
Salary: £34,000 - £39,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Children's Residential Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker looking for your next career opportunity?
We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a specialist children's residential assessment service supporting young people aged 7-18 years.
The service provides short-term residential placements focused on assessment, therapeutic intervention, trauma support and stabilisation. Young people are provided with a safe, nurturing and structured environment, alongside access to education and opportunities to participate in outdoor and adventure-based activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Deputy Manager or an experienced Senior/Team Leader who is ready to progress into management.
The Role
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the home and ensure children and young people receive high-quality, child-centred care.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the day-to-day management of the residential home
Leading, supervising and supporting residential care staff
Promoting a positive, safe and nurturing environment
Supporting care plans, assessments and risk management
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed consistently
Supporting young people who have experienced trauma and challenging circumstances
Maintaining accurate records and high standards of professional practice
Working effectively with social workers, education providers and other professionals
Supporting staff development, supervision and performance
Ensuring the service operates in line with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards
Deputising for the Registered Manager when required
About You
To be considered, you will need:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience within a children's residential care home within the last 5 years
At least 1 year's experience supervising or managing staff within a care environment
Good knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
Strong leadership and communication skills
A child-centred and trauma-informed approach
Full UK driving licence
Unrestricted right to work in the UK
An interest in outdoor activities is essential, while relevant activity experience or qualifications would be advantageous.
