Deputy Manager – Children’s Home
Swindon – Free Parking
This is an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Home Deputy Manager to join the company. This is a progressive and trauma informed group of children’s homes in a residential home, specializing in providing care for young people with learning difficulties and emotional behavioral issues.
The role
* Working in a beautiful and comfortable, homely home with an emphasis on providing a safe environment with strength-based care and emotional attachment to all children.
* A culture of emotional warmth parenting
* Reflective and progressive ways of working for all staff with a warm and welcoming environment
* This role is a leadership role, responsible for assisting the Manager in the day to day running of the Home
* Ensuring all children and staff are sufficiently safeguarded, supervised and mentored
* Managing team members
* Taking an empathetic and engaging approach to working in partnership with young people, their families, professionals, and other agencies, to meet the needs of young people
* Training staff members
* To ensure paperwork in the Home is accurate, reflective and evidences the progress the children make within the home
* Producing paperwork
* Care plans, risk assessments and behavior support plans
* Health and Safety regulations are adhered
Essential for the role
* Must have experience in Residential Children’s social care
* Minimum of 12 months experience, ideally as a senior support worker or similar or been a Deputy Manager in a Residential Home
* An understanding of Trauma informed care and therapeutic background
* Hold a level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare
Salary and Benefits
* £30K to £33K per annum dependent upon experience

* Paid sleep ins are £63 per night, which included at one per week gives an average deputy salary of £34.276
* Shift patterns will include sone on-shift working 07.30 am to 21.30 pm (two shifts) and some admin shifts 08.30 am to 16.30 pm
