Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Residential) - Barry

Vetro Recruitment is seeking Children’s Support Workers for children residential services based in Barry. This role offers long days, sleep ins, and waking nights, with the opportunity to make a real, measurable difference every day.
What you’ll be doing as a Children’s Support Worker in Barry
* Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests
* Promote independence and wellbeing, within a safe and nurturing environment
* Provide emotional and practical support inside the home
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to protect children’s health and welfare
* Support, overcome and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
* Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away, supporting the young people to access activities and experiences
* Join weekend and evening activities that reflect individual interests, helping young people build confidence and routines
What you’ll need to be a successful Children’s Support Worker
* A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
* An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
* At least 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
* Restraint Training, TMVA (or be willing to undergo the 3 day course)
* A valid UK driving licence
* A current Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one
* The right to work in the UK
