Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to children (ages 12-16) in need, helping to ensure their well-being, safety, and development. This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to drive to various locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct Support: Provide emotional, social, and practical support to children, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
* Transportation: Safely transport children to and from appointments, school, recreational activities, and other required locations.
* Care Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of personalized care plans, working closely with other professionals and family members.
* Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and monitor the children’s progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or significant changes to the relevant authorities.
* Activities and Engagement: Plan and participate in activities that promote social, educational, and personal development.
* Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the children, ensuring their rights and needs are respected and met.
* Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, teachers, healthcare professionals, and family members.
* Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in child support and welfare.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Certificates: Must have a Care certificate and cover everything in mandatory training within the past 12 months
* Experience: Previous experience working with children in a supportive capacity, particularly in a social work or educational setting in the UK.
* Skills:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help children.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and reporting.
* License: A full UK driver's license and a clean driving record are essential. Access to a reliable vehicle is preferred.
* Clearances: Must have a DBS certificate on the Update Service
