We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Lancaster (LA1) on a full-time basis to cover a maternity leave. This role will commence on 6th October 2026 and offers the opportunity to make a real impact within a supportive and well-established Science department.

The Role

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their scientific knowledge and curiosity. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
Contribute to the wider success of the Science department.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates must:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have proven experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
Be committed to raising standards and achieving excellent outcomes for students.
Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
