Start your career in a GMP laboratory: You'll join a chemistry testing lab as a QC Technician, learning how raw materials and finished products are tested, how a stability programme runs, and how a QC department stays audit-ready.

Know what you're applying for: Around 80% of this role is project coordination and administration, and 20% is bench work. It suits a graduate who wants to understand the whole testing process, from booking a sample in to issuing the certificate, rather than someone who only wants time on the instruments.

Grow with a busy lab: New business is coming in fast, and the small project team is set to expand. Technicians who prove themselves can progress towards a QC Analyst role, typically after 12 to 24 months.

Your salary, benefits and hours of work

£27,000 and annual bonus
Flexitime: start any time between 7:30am and 9:30am, finish between 3:30pm and 5:30pm
Monday to Friday days, no weekends or bank holidays
Shutdown from Christmas to the New Year
Holidays: 24 days plus 8 bank holidays, increasing with length of service (one extra day for every 5 years, to a maximum of 25 years)
Full training from day oneWhat you'll do as a Graduate QC Technician

You'll support the QC project team, keeping samples moving and results getting back to customers on time.

Book stability and project samples into the QC systems and plan your workload with the Team Leader
Organise despatch of samples to sub-contract partner laboratories, raising purchase orders and labelling correctly
Collect and trend data sets, create Certificates of Analysis and draft customer quotes
Prepare reagents, carry out sensory evaluations and run basic sample analysis to documented procedures and GMP
Help review pharmaceutical methods and specifications against new versions of the European Pharmacopoeia
Support the stability programme, technical documentation, consumables ordering and continuous improvement projectsWhat you'll need to apply

A BSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a closely related chemistry-based degree
A genuine eye for detail and strong organisational skills
Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office 365) and willingness to learn new systemsInterested?
