Description:

Chemistry & Technical Opportunities - Plastics & Polymers
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £35,000-£50,000, depending on experience
We are recruiting for several technical opportunities within the plastics and polymer manufacturing industry, offering opportunities for candidates with backgrounds in chemistry, polymer science, laboratory work and technical development.
These positions span research and development, laboratory-based technical support and hands-on polymer processing. We are interested in candidates with relevant industry experience, from early-career scientists to practical technical specialists.
Key responsibilities may include:

Supporting laboratory testing, material development and technical investigations.

Working with polymers, thermoplastics, additives or masterbatch materials.

Assisting with product development, trials and scale-up activities.

Operating laboratory equipment and supporting practical processing activities.

Investigating technical issues and helping identify suitable solutions.

Contributing to project work and, where relevant, communicating technical information to customers.

What we're looking for:

A background in chemistry, polymer science, materials science or a related discipline, or relevant hands-on technical experience.

Exposure to plastics, polymers, thermoplastics, masterbatch, compounding or a closely related manufacturing environment.

Practical laboratory skills and an interest in material development or technical problem-solving.

The ability to work independently, manage priorities and contribute to a wider technical team.

Strong communication skills for positions involving technical support or customer interaction.

Relevant industrial experience is important. Depending on the position, a degree may be preferred, while advanced research-focused opportunities may suit candidates with an MSc or PhD in polymer science or a related subject.

Interested?
If your experience is relevant to plastics, polymers or materials development and you are open to exploring a new opportunity, please apply with your CV for a confidential discussion about the available positions
