An excellent Chemical Process Engineer opportunity has arisen at our site in Derby. As the Chemical Process Engineer you will given the opportunity use your deep experience in chemical engineering to play a part in the Regeneration of the Raynesway Nuclear Licenced Site. This once in a lifetime major infrastructure programme is replacing the current facilities with modern state of the art manufacturing capability.

As the Chemical Process Engineer you'll enjoy a varied and rewarding role taking technical ownership, managing supplier and stakeholder relationships, ensuring compliance and supporting and leading projects to successful completion.. This unique opportunity will allow you to experience the full lifecycle through initial design, detailing, installation, commissioning and operational phases.

What you will be doing
Act as 'Intelligent Customer' for chemical engineering aspects of design and construction.

Actively working with and giving direction to supply chain partners and internal stakeholders

Provide technical authority, mentorship and review input for junior engineers and cross-functional design teams.

Ensure that principles of inherent safety, hierarchy of controls and simplification are embedded into the design.

Review and acceptance of chemical engineering documentation and drawings produced by the external supply chain.

Supporting the Engineering Manager in ensuring that Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP) both internally and in the external supply chain are performing chemical engineering work.

Implement engineering controls on chemical process engineering work carried out internally and in the external supply chain.

Ensuring that chemical process systems are adequately commissioned and decommissioned.

Who we're looking for:
Chemical Process Engineer experienced in the design, construction and operation of nuclear and/or conventional facilities and infrastructure within the UK ideally including experience of undertaking and assessing design of facilities.

Experience of working on COMAH or similar high hazard sites, (Nuclear ,Chemical, Petrochem).

Knowledge of Process Safety tools and techniques

Understanding of modern control principles relating to chemical processes

Familiarity with Nuclear Site Licensing Conditions, Safety Assessment Principles (SAPs) and Technical Assessment Guides (TAGs) or (SRAM) and (SRAGs) advantageous.

Chemical/Process Engineering degree or similar relevant discipline, although experience and capability will be taken into consideration.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place.

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
