Description:

The Role We are currently recruiting for a Chemical Operative to join a busy manufacturing site in Teesside. This role will support chemical blending, filling, and production activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained across site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out chemical blending, filling, packing, labelling, and despatch activities in line with production schedules
Load and offload road tankers, HGVs, and handle both hazardous and non-hazardous materials
Transfer finished goods to warehouse areas in accordance with site procedures
Follow blending recipes and operate filling equipment such as drums and IBC containers
Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with site procedures and HSE regulations
Monitor production performance, report issues, and support delivery of daily KPIs
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all operational areas
Promote product integrity, security, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support safety activities including hazard identification, behavioural safety, and procedure development
Liaise with QSHE teams to report and investigate safety or compliance issues Health, Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards at all times
Ensure correct storage, handling, and movement of products in line with COSHH regulations
Maintain awareness of product hazards and safe systems of work
Contribute to continuous safety improvement across site Skills & Qualifications
Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices (essential)
NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Chemical Operations (desirable)
Counterbalance Forklift Licence (desirable)
Banksman, First Aid, or Fire Warden training (desirable)
Awareness of COSHH and environmental practices (desirable) Experience
Previous experience working within a chemical or manufacturing environment (essential)
Experience operating filling equipment, pumps, or flow meters (desirable)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team following safe operating procedures (essential) Additional Requirements
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime when required
