Position: Chef de Partie

Location: Kelvedon, Essex

Salary: £30000 - £40000 (dependent on experience)

Reporting To: Head Chef and Sous Chef

Responsible For: Commis Chef

As a Chef de Partie, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service in your assigned section. From preparation to presentation, you'll contribute to the culinary excellence that defines this venue.

Main Duties

* Prepare and garnish food orders according to menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation.

* Coordinate staff in your section to maintain efficiency and quality.

* Order adequate supplies and set up "mise-en-place" for service.

* Adhere to venue standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation.

* Collaborate with kitchen team to maintain seasoning, portions, and appearance of food.

* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in your section at all times.

* Follow safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

* Assist in last-minute changes to reservations and ensure timely delivery of food.

* Maintain records of preparation, cooking, and presentation specifications for reference.

* Collaborate closely with senior chefs to fill in when required.

* Coordinate job tasks with staff in your section and help achieve optimum quality.

* Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation laws and regulations.

Requirements

* Minimum 3 years' experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

* Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).

* COSSH Training (can be provided).

* Basic knowledge of HACCP.

* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and peers.

* Flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm.

* Strong organizational skills.
