BBS Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting experienced Chefs and Catering Assistants to work on an ad hoc basis within a care environment in Malton, North Yorkshire.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Chef:
* Prepare and cook nutritious meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements.
* Follow the IDDSI Framework to prepare modified texture meals safely and accurately.
* Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time.
* Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
* Comply with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations.
* Work collaboratively with the catering team to deliver an excellent service.
Chef Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Chef, preferably within a care, healthcare, or similar environment.
* Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
* Knowledge and experience of the IDDSI Framework
* Excellent understanding of food hygiene and allergen management.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Catering Assistant:
* Support the chefs with food preparation and meal service.
* Assist in serving meals to residents in line with dietary requirements.
* Prepare food and beverages as directed.
* Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
* Wash up and assist with stock rotation and storage.
* Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Catering Assistant Requirements:
* Previous catering or kitchen experience.
* Food Safety Certificate
* Experience working within a care environment (essential).
* A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
