Description:
Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents in accordance with agreed menus and dietary requirements.
* Cater for residents with specific dietary needs, including allergies, food intolerances, soft/puréed diets and other special requirements.
* Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen-control procedures at all times.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
* Ensure food is prepared, cooked, stored and served at appropriate temperatures.
* Follow portion-control and presentation standards.
* Check food stock levels and report shortages or required supplies to the relevant manager.
* Minimise food waste while maintaining appropriate food quality and portion sizes.
* Keep accurate records, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules and other required food-safety documentation.
* Work closely with care-home staff to understand residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
* Comply with the care home's policies, procedures and relevant UK food-safety regulations.
* Support the kitchen team with general food preparation, cleaning and organisation when required
