Requirements:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene.
- DBS Update Service.
The key duties of the post are as follows: -
Kitchen duties
· To prepare, cook and present meals for an established number of residents and visitors.
· To prepare menus in liaison with the Head Cook and to ensure that a balanced, varied,
nutritious and enjoyable diet is available, paying particular attention to special diets.
· To be familiar with the most recent legislation on the Health & Safety Act and COSHH
regulations and to access relevant training as necessary.
· To ensure that the kitchen and all equipment is kept clean, tidy and in good working
order.
· To wear protective clothing and gloves as necessary.
· To ensure waste is suitably disposed of.
Administration
· To re-order food and supplies as required from suppliers by arrangement with the
Head Cook and on occasions in the absence of the Head Cook.
Other Duties
· To observe the GSCC Codes of Practice, home policies and statutory/legal
requirements
· To establish good relationships with residents, colleagues, relatives, and visitors
· To attend arranged meetings and training programmes and participate in mandatory
training.
· To inform the Manager or Registered Nurse of any problems reported by residents or
observed in the course of your duties.
· To ensure that policies for the protection of vulnerable adults are followed.
· To maintain professional standards of ethics and confidentiality in accordance with the
General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
