Chartered Project Engineer
 
My client is looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer with at post Chartership relevant experience.
 
Attributes for Role
·MEng or BEng.
·MICE or MIStructE
·Commitment to personal development and training.
·Ability to manage projects with modest supervision.
·Ability to exercise engineering judgement and make independent decisions.
 
Principal Duties
·Management...of projects, and the staff assigned to the project.
·Resourcing and Work Planning...assist Director to coordinate information on a weekly basis.
·Design....prepare design calculations as required following the procedure and methods laid out in ISO 9001 Manual and be aware of SER procedures
·Training....take responsibility for your own training and personal development.
·Health & Safety....ensure you are aware of the risks associated with visits to construction sites, unoccupied buildings etc. Prepare project risk assessments and residual risk identification when required, defining and maintaining quality safety standards.
·Commercial Awareness...understand the need for projects to be profitable and take responsibility for monitoring the fee on jobs you are responsible for. Support with Prepare fee quotations and fee claims when required where scope of work has changed or additional services have been instructed.
 
General Duties
·Assist the Director in the weekly workload review
·To carry out structural design work, inspections and reports when required.
·Communicate effectively either verbally or by preparing letters and reports as required.
·Monitor financial performance of projects
·Maintain continuing professional development and to keep abreast of technical developments and legislation.
·Help the company to be profitable and raise profile with external Clients.
·Report to Director on all technical and welfare issues as necessary.
·Work individually and as a project team member efficiently, professionally and in a helpful manner.
·Assist in the training and development of junior technical staff.
