An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established consultancy delivering a diverse range of projects across the commercial, residential and public sectors.

This role offers the opportunity to work on varied surveying and project work, providing professional advice to clients whilst managing projects from inception through to completion.

The position would suit candidates living within a commutable distance of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire or Greater London.

The Role

As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will provide a full range of professional building surveying services across a varied property portfolio. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget while providing expert technical advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake building surveys, condition surveys and defect diagnosis.

* Prepare specifications, schedules of work and project cost estimates.

* Manage projects from inception through to completion.

* Administer building contracts and monitor project progress.

* Advise clients on refurbishment, maintenance and development projects.

* Carry out feasibility studies and prepare technical reports.

* Manage tender processes, procurement and contractor appointments.

* Assess building defects and recommend suitable remedial solutions.

* Provide advice on building regulations, statutory compliance and property legislation.

* Support clients with maintenance strategies and asset management.

* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

* Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and stakeholders throughout project delivery.

* Contribute to health and safety compliance across projects.

* Experience with fire risk assessments would be advantageous.

Requirements

* Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.

* Chartered status (MRICS).

* Demonstrable post-qualification experience within Building Surveying.

* Strong technical knowledge of building construction, defects and legislation.

* Experience managing projects and administering construction contracts.

* Excellent report writing and communication skills.

* Strong organisational and analytical abilities.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

This is primarily a site-based role involving regular property inspections and client visits. Occasional overnight stays and out-of-hours work may be required to meet project demands.

Salary & Benefits

* Salary up to £85,000 (dependent on experience)

* £450 monthly car allowance

* Fuel card

* 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
