Description:
A long-established London partnership is looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join their Building Consultancy team. The work is genuinely varied: contract administration, dilapidations, party wall, schedules of condition, acquisition surveys and defect diagnosis, with a strong weighting toward warehouse and industrial property. You won't be pigeonholed.
The firm's agency division drives a steady flow of instructions, meaning the BS team benefits from a built-in pipeline without needing to generate work from scratch. It's a flexible, trust-based working environment with two days a week in the office expected, no timesheets, and a team culture that values collaboration across disciplines.
Duties of the Chartered Building Surveyor to include:
Delivering contract administration on projects up to £250k
Preparing and negotiating dilapidations claims
Undertaking party wall instructions and schedules of condition
Carrying out building surveys, often following acquisitions
Defect diagnosis on older industrial and commercial stock
Working with agency, property management and valuation teams as internal clientsThe Person?
A well-rounded Chartered Building Surveyor who enjoys variety, is proactive socially as well as technically, and wants to develop across the full Building Surveying spectrum.
The Chartered Building Surveyor will ideally have:
MRICS qualification (or relevant experience with APC case study ready within 6 months)
Broad Building Surveying experience across professional and project services
Interest in industrial and warehouse property
Proactive, sociable approach (padel tournaments and team socials are a thing)
