Our client Leicestershire county council is looking for a Children's team manager to join their Screening team.

Part-time positionWe're looking for a passionate, confident, and experienced Social Work Team Manager to join our fast-paced Screening Team - the frontline of safeguarding and protection for children and families in our OUTSTANDING authority. You're a qualified social worker with a proven track record in child protection and frontline practice, confident in your judgment and driven by a strong ethical compass. You're ready to step into leadership-or build on existing management experience-with the tools to support, challenge, and develop a team to be their very best.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate extensive statutory social work experience, confidently applying thresholds and child protection processes across public and private law, and stepping into practice support when required.
Lead and support a team of screening social workers, promoting a positive, collaborative, and high‑performing team culture.
Oversee allocation and progression of contacts and referrals, ensuring thresholds are applied consistently and targets/standards are met.
Build strong internal and external partnerships to enable effective and timely information sharing.
Use performance data and KPIs to drive quality and throughput, embedding a strong data‑informed culture within the team.
Provide clear leadership, confidently chairing complex meetings, leading development work, and making advanced‑level safeguarding decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
Identify and support team training and development needs, ensuring continuous improvement in practice and maintaining timely, child‑focused responses, including chairing strategy discussions where required.
You will understand the complexity of the statutory child protection processes as set out in legislation and statutory guidance and evidence how you have applied these in practiceBenefits of working with Remedy
