Centreless Grinder – Setter / Operator

We are recruiting for an experienced Centreless Grinder Setter / Operator to join a well-established precision engineering business on the outskirts of Birmingham.
This position would suit an experienced grinder who is confident setting machines independently and producing precision components to close tolerances.
Centreless Grinder – Setter / Operator- The Role
You will be responsible for setting and operating centreless grinding equipment within a busy precision manufacturing environment.
Duties will include:
* Setting and operating centreless grinding machines
* Carrying out both through-feed and plunge grinding
* Producing components to tight dimensional tolerances
* Working from engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
* Completing in-process inspection using micrometers, gauges and other measuring equipment
* Making machine, tooling and grinding wheel adjustments where required
* Working across small and medium production batches
* Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
* Ensuring finished components meet required quality standards
Centreless Grinder – Setter / Operator Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have previous hands-on experience working with centreless grinding machines, including machine setting.
You should also be able to demonstrate:
* Strong centreless grinding experience
* The ability to set machines rather than solely operate them
* Experience working to close tolerances
* Confidence reading engineering drawings
* Knowledge of grinding wheels, machine adjustments and grinding processes
* Good inspection and measurement skills
Centreless Grinder – Setter / Operator Details
Monday to Thursday: 7am – 3:30pm Friday: Ealry finish
Additional overtime is available.
* Up to £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
