Cell Biology Technician (initially a 6 month contract)

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cell Biology Lab Technician to join their dynamic team! If you thrive in a laboratory environment and are ready to roll up your sleeves, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

As a Cell Biology Lab Technician, you will have the chance to perform a variety of essential tasks that contribute to groundbreaking research. Your day-to-day duties will include:

Executing routine laboratory tasks such as embryo rescue, tissue culture, and microscopy using established protocols and techniques.
Handling chemicals and conducting ploidy analysis while ensuring data quality, accuracy, and appropriate storage.
Participating in housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organised lab environment.
Carrying out non-routine tasks under the supervision and guidance of specialists.
Performing initial data analysis and generating clear reports to communicate findings back to the team.
Engaging proactively with specialists and team leads to address issues and contribute to problem-solving.
Independently organizing your laboratory work beyond routine tasks.
Maintaining lab procedures, equipment, and facilities, while also helping to define and update guidelines and procedures.
Contributing to the writing of new Work Instructions and Risk Assessments and actively participating in reviewing existing documents.
Ensuring compliance with HSE principles and ethical standards.

What We're Looking For:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

Proven experience working in a scientific laboratory, particularly in cell biology.
Proficiency in microscopy, aseptic techniques, cell culture, chemical handling, and tissue sample preparation.
Strong attention to detail and the flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Advantageous: Experience with flow cytometry will be a plus!
