Description:
Nuclear Waste Services has opportunity for a C,E&I Engineer to join our busy team at the LLWR Repository in Cumbria.
As part of this role, you will be part of a small team of two engineers and one technician assisting the C, E&I Responsible engineer in producing C, E&I design packages to support projects and tasks on the LLWR site.
You will also provide C, E&I technical support to the Systems Engineering and Operations and Maintenance teams on the LLWR site.
Projects and task will be part of the following programmes on the LLWR site:
* RACER (Repository Asset Care, Enhancements and Remediation) – tasks and projects to support the safe and efficient operation of the LLWR site.
* RD (Repository Development) – task and projects to enable the long-term capping of waste disposal facilities on the LLWR site.
Responsibilities
* Produce C, E&I design deliverables (e.g specification, calculations, technical reports and drawings and) of a suitable quality supporting successful project and task delivery.
* Check C, E&I design deliverables to ensure that they are of a suitable quality supporting successful project and task delivery.
* Produce and check “as-built” C, E&I design deliverables to ensure that they reflect the configuration baseline and allow projects and tasks to be successfully closed out.
* Carry out plant walkdowns and revise record documentation supporting the management of the C,E&I configuration baseline.
* Support C,E&I assurance activities to help demonstrate compliance with regulations, standards and procedures.
* Manage own workload, attend project and team meetings and provide regular progress updates supporting the management of the C,E &I team and successful project and task delivery.
* Attend engineering study meetings, design reviews, Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews, and Hazards in Construction (HAZCON) review supporting LLWR site operations and successful project and task delivery.
* Maintain technical competence and currency with respect to modern C,E &I standards and methodologies to allow compliance with current best practice and ensure compliance with regulations, standards and procedures
The Nominated Person (Electrical) following suitable training to allow non-intrusive surveys to be safely carried out on C,E&I installations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
* HNC in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum 5 years relevant post-qualification experience.
Desirable
* Honours degree (min 2:2) in a relevant subject.
* The ability to obtain SC clearance
