CCTV Engineer

CCTV ENGINEER BETWEEN BIRMINGHAM AND NOTTINGHAM

Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join our expanding team in the Birmingham/Nottingham areas. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IP CCTV installations, particularly with Hikvision, Axis, and Dahua systems. You should have a solid understanding of CCTV system design in line with British Standards (BS8418) and be knowledgeable about risk mitigation using Detector Activated Remote Monitored CCTV systems.

You must be adept at both the physical installation and the configuration of CCTV systems, with the ability to customize solutions to meet specific client needs and adapt to changes in their premises.

This role requires out-of-hours work, overtime, and travel to customer sites with prior notice. You will also be part of the on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Installing and commissioning CCTV systems

* Performing maintenance and troubleshooting on CCTV systems

* Problem-solving and addressing CCTV system issues

* Timely completion of all work documentation

* Training clients on new equipment and updating them on potential false alarm hazards

* Communicating professionally and courteously with clients to resolve concerns effectively

* Checking equipment prior to installation and ensuring proper paperwork for commissioning

* Managing van stock and conducting stock checks, replacing items as needed

* Ensuring vehicle safety and reporting any issues to the Production & Inventory Manager

* Conducting risk assessments on-site and identifying potential hazards

Key Skills and Experience:

* Self-motivated and capable of working outdoors

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Flexibility regarding work location and hours

* CSCS Card is desirable but not essential

* Excellent customer service skills as you will represent the company on client sites

* Demonstrable knowledge of CCTV installation and commissioning

* Familiarity with both open and closed protocol systems

* Proficiency in IP Networking and strong IT skills

Essential Requirements:

* Full driver's license

* CSCS license

* Documentation for Security Screening per BS7858 Standard (Valid Passport/Birth Certificate, recent Bank Statement/Utility Bill, and Driver's License)

Note: Employment is conditional until successful completion of screening within 12 weeks of the start date.
