Carpenter

Description:

RSW are recruiting a number of Carpenters to construct modular buildings using wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using hand tools and power tools according to specifications and drawings.

Pay is dependent on competency and discussed at interview £13.50 to £15 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

* Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches

* Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials

* Build frameworks for buildings, including walls, floors, and doorframes

* Install fixtures such as windows, doors, walls

* Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures

* Operate hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner

* Follow all safety regulations and procedures on site

* Collaborate with other labourers as required

* Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications & Experience:

* Proven experience as a carpenter or similar role

* High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus

* Good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials

* Ability to read technical documents and drawings

* Hands-on experience with tools of the trade

* Physical strength and stamina

Skills & Competencies:

* Teamwork and communication

* Time management and ability to meet deadlines

* Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions

Working Conditions:

* May require lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods

* Use of protective equipment may be required (hard hat, safety boots, gloves, etc.)

These positions are Temp to Perm

Monday- Thursday Overtime offered Friday and Saturday
