Cargo Operations Clerk
Heathrow Airport
£26600 – £28200 per annum depending on experience
Shifts: Working 4 on 4 off - 2 days (Apply online only) 2 nights (Apply online only) 4 off
Red Sky Personnel are currently looking for a Cargo Operations Clerk for our client a leading cargo handling services company conveniently located near Heathrow Airport who pride themselves on exceptional customer service and operate a state-of-the-art facility that meets the highest international standards. Your role as a Cargo Operations clerk will be to provide and maintain a high level of service and accuracy in processing the movement of cargo in line with company and airline requirements, ensuring that all company procedures are always adhered to.
Cargo Operations Clerk skills and experience
* High desirable to have a background of cargo/aviation and knowledge of air waybills.
* Working knowledge of available software and freight movement techniques/requirements
* Excellent customer service skills, face to face, telephone, and written communication (e-mails).
* Confident in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Experience of data entry
* A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.
* Great organisational and interpersonal skills
* Highly organised with a willingness to learn and develop.
* Excellent technical knowledge and awareness of procedures
Cargo Operations Clerk Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Using ABS software and appropriate paperwork to correctly process import and export shipments in accordance with company, customs and DFT regulations and to contractually agreed quality levels.
* Representing and portraying the company in a professional manner whilst providing communication and information to any external agencies (including, but not restricted to GSAs, Airlines, Freight Agents).
* To understand and execute new working practices deemed necessary by the company, including designated training courses.
* To maintain high levels of Health and Safety standards
* To achieve the targets and job standards set out by Team Leaders/Supervisors
* To be communicative between Team Leaders/Supervisors and provide information relevant to the operation on request.
* To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
* To perform any reasonable request from Team Leaders/Supervisors
Cargo Operations Clerk Personal Situation:
Able to work unsocial hours including night shifts.
A clean CRC must be obtainable (no disqualifying criminal convictions allowed due to DfT, BAA and Company regulations). A driving license would be desirable as there may be a requirement to drive airside.
