Name: Cargo Agent
Location: London Gatwick Airport 

Main Purpose of the Job (general tasks):
◤ Daily running of the clerical operation in the facility
◤ Maintain customer service levels to a high standard in conjunction with the Lead Agent
◤ Support the Lead Agent in all areas of the business
◤ To ensure compliance of Regulatory Bodies e.g. HSE, CAA and HMRC/ Border force.
Responsibilities (detailed tasks):
◤ Liaise with customers in a polite and efficient manner.
◤ Create and update records of all consignments in the computer systems.
◤ Interrogate the customer systems to obtain information concerning any consignment
◤ Maintain computer database
◤ Separate and distribute cargo documents according to airline requirements
◤ Arrange transfer to coastwise traffic and confirm arrival at destination
◤ Liaise and interact with Transport division to ensure all airline customers trucking requirements are satisfied within agreed timeframes.
◤ Serve Customers collecting cargo including taking payments of charges
◤ Conduct tracing activity and any other relevant action following short/over shipments of
documents/cargo
◤ Operate telephone system in a polite and efficient manner
◤ Investigate and report on all queries from customers/airlines/agents/HMC
◤ Liaise with warehouse staff and drivers as appropriate.
◤ Update filing as necessary
◤ Responsible for checking Dangerous Goods to IATA / AVI checks
◤ Be aware of the role of the Responsible Person (RP) within the designated site for the handling of
pharmaceutical and medicinal products under GDP processes
◤ To undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post
