Salary: £12-14 / hour

Shift Pattern: Split shift, 7am–10am & 2.30pm-630pm (35 hours/week)

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school based in Cardiff who are looking for a Caretaker to start ASAP. The school boasts a diverse learning community with a passion for developing all of its pupils and provides them with an exciting and fulfilling curriculum, showcasing high expectations for all learners.

The school’s site is large and ever-changing, requiring staff to adapt and work with speed and precision. As a Caretaker, you will be expected to work as part of an enthusiastic school staff to ensure general repairs and safety is of the utmost importance on school site. Additionally, you must be able to communicate clearly with site staff and cleaning staff on day-to-day basis.

The successful Caretaker will have:

Knowledge and experience of repairs and general maintenance work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for giving instructions to contractors and support crews.
Organisation, multi-tasking and scheduling skills.
Awareness of the following: Inspecting the building, including heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order.
Problem-solving skills for addressing safety and maintenance concern.
