School Caretaker required for sickness cover in Bridgwater – TA6
£12.38 per hour PAYE
37 hours per week
During school holidays, working hours are Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5pm and 9am - 4.30pm on Fridays
During term time, working hours are alternate weeks of 6.30am-2:30pm (1pm Fridays) and 2.00pm-10pm (9.30pm on Friday).
About the job
Carry out regular checks of all school and ensure that everything is in good working order.
Move furniture and equipment, change room layouts, as required.
Carrying out minor repairs such as mending broken windows, changing light bulbs
Maintaining the grounds and removing litter and removing any graffiti
Maintain site security including unlocking the site buildings in the morning ahead of people arriving and locking up at the end of the day. This includes setting building alarms.
Regular cleaning of sports hall floor using a mechanical washer/drier.
The right candidate
Experience in undertaking basic maintenance and repairs.
Good verbal communication skills; the ability to deal with students, staff, visitors and parents in a friendly manner
Basic Literacy and Numeracy skills
Good practical/DIY skills
Happy to undertake a DBS criminal record check prior to starting work
