Job Summary:
Equitas are seeking a dedicated and responsible Caretaker for Seconday School in Greater London. The Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of our facilities. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently. This role involves a combination of routine maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe environment, and responding promptly to any facility-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facility Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Conduct minor repairs on equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
- Ensure that all areas are well-maintained and in good working order.
2. Groundskeeping:
- Maintain outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, and parking lots.
- Clear walkways and entrances of debris, snow, or ice during inclement weather.
3. Safety and Security:
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards.
- Monitor and report any security concerns or unauthorized persons on the premises.
4. Waste Management:
- Oversee proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
- Ensure that trash receptacles are emptied regularly.
5. Assistance with Events:
- Provide support for events by setting up and arranging furniture, equipment, and other necessary items.
- Assist with crowd control and facility logistics during events.
6. Communication:
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
- Communicate with staff and management regarding the status of facility-related tasks.
Qualifications & Requirments:
- Clean DBS (no criminal record)
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work - (ideal but not essential)
- Ability to operate and maintain relevant tools and equipment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
