Waking Night Worker

Service Delivery

To work with the Care & Support Manager to ensure that the services work within the policies and procedures of MTVH
To participate in the on-call Rota.
To ensure that the services comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures and legislation.
To work with the Care & Support Manager to develop and deliver service implementation plans for the care.
To review individual care plans with Social Services staff, ensure that individual care plans are drawn up/revised as a consequence and monitor their implementation.To be mindful of support plans that are in place.
To ensure accurate recording of care hours delivered.
To support those delivering the meals service from a care perspective
Ensuring care plans are reviewed, accurate and up to date (including the use of the in-house recording system ? SUM)
Ensure risk assessments are undertaken
Ensure manual handling assessments are completed
Assist in the monitoring of the quality of the service and implement the quality standards that should be attained within the service
Complete handover meetings between shifts
Contribute to and work as part of a team, including providing cover for absent colleagues
To participate fully in staff meetings, handover meetings, training and other team activities

Work closely with and develop constructive working relationships, as appropriate, with relevant internal and external parties to ensure open and effective communication and co-ordination of services for Service Users

Support service users in raising awareness of health & safety issues, working in accordance with Risk Assessments
Comply with all health & safety legislation and organisational policies
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self, other staff members, Service Users and other persons

To comply with the organisation?s lone working policy and procedures

Perform other duties as may be reasonably required by your line manager
Agree to conduct yourself in line with the general standards of conduct and behaviour as detailed in MTVH?s Code of Conduct which include awareness of risk, health and safety at work, data protection and embracing the cultural diversity of all colleagues and customers
Adhere to all relevant organisational strategies and policies & procedures
Personal Competencies

Able to work flexibly. The work pattern will be irregular, and will be on a rota basis including unsocial hours, weekends and public holidays
Empathetic and able to support customers with dignity
Able to contribute positively to the team

Availability for working unsocial hours, weekends and public holidays on a rota basis
Skills/Experience

Experience of providing support to vulnerable people (voluntary experience also qualifies)
Understanding of the difficulties faced by vulnerable people with care and support needs
Understanding of the Service User group
Knowledge of health & safety issues relating to care and support of vulnerable people
Ability to work flexibly to meet Service User and service requirements
Ability to undertake moving and handling tasks (including pushing of wheelchairs, assistance with supporting service users)
Basic IT Literacy
