Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 Care Support Assistant to provide personalised support for a pupil within our welcoming and inclusive primary school.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping one child access learning, develop independence, and flourish both academically and emotionally.

About the Role

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals, you will provide individualised care and educational support tailored to the child's specific needs. You will build a trusting relationship that promotes confidence, wellbeing, and engagement throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional educational, physical, communication, or medical needs.
Assist with personal care where required, ensuring the child's dignity, comfort, and wellbeing are always maintained.
Support the pupil in accessing classroom activities by adapting tasks and encouraging participation.
Implement strategies identified within the child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or individual support plan.
Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and social interaction with peers.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate observations to share with teaching staff and parents where appropriate.
Support transitions throughout the school day, including arrival, breaktimes, lunchtime, and home time.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.

Is caring, calm, and empathetic with a genuine commitment to supporting children.
Has experience working with children with SEND, autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other additional needs (desirable but not essential).
Can remain patient and adaptable in a busy school environment.
Builds positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
