Purpose of the Role

As a nurse working for a care home, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to residents. You will work as a member of the nursing team, carrying out all relevant forms of care in conjunction with other nurse practitioners. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and health of the elderly or individuals with various medical conditions who reside in the care home. Supervisions will be a part of your job role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Work as part of an efficient team and contribute to the smooth running of the home,
Continue professional development through attending and contributing to internal/external training, development meetings, and supervisions.
Represent the care home in a professional and positive manner at all times and in all communications with residents, visitors, and staff.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all issues and information relating to residents and the company.
Administer all medication and treatments within NMC guidelines and the medication policy.
Ensure that residents’ care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, relatives, and other health care professionals, in accordance with NMC guidelines and policy.
Maintain accurate records and ensure that each resident has an individualised care plan, reviewed monthly or more frequently as needed.
Support new staff members in all aspects of their work in the home, providing help and guidance where appropriate.
Act as a mentor to new and less experienced staff, providing relevant training, coaching, and communication.
Cooperate and maintain good working relationships with colleagues to maximize patient care.
Maintain an empathetic and professional approach to residents and relatives.
Communicate effectively with residents, partners, stakeholders, and other relevant bodies.
Skills and Experience

Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, including medication administration and wound care.
Ability to empathize and communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in caring for older adults.
Flexibility to work day, evening, night shifts, and weekends as required
