CAD Technician / Template Processor

We are seeking a CAD Technician/Template Processor to join our 24/7 production team, based at our Solid Surface Manufacturing Site at Holme on Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming templates into precise technical drawings using industry-specific CAD software. These drawings will serve as the blueprint for our high-quality kitchen worktops.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in programming CNC machinery from these technical drawings, ensuring accurate production. Communication is also key in this role, as you will liaise with other departments and contractors on-site to ensure smooth operations.

Shift Patterns available:

There are two fixed shifts to choose from, both are Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week.

Day Shift: 8.00am - 4.30pm
Evening Shift: 1:30pm - 10.00pm

What will I be doing as a CAD Technician/Template Processor?

Preparing and creating technical drawings using industry-specific CAD software according to the planning schedule.
Conducting compliance checks on existing templates and drawings.
Programming CNC machinery to assign tool paths, nest pieces, and allocate material support.
Liaising with subcontractors and main contractors on-site.
Collaborating with the production department to resolve technical issues.
Adhering to health and safety standards, company quality standards, machine output, and housekeeping protocols.
Running and updating reports and order tracking systems.
What do I need to qualify for this CAD Technician/Template Processor role?

Level 2 Certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or equivalent experience operating CAD software .
Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Experience with document management systems and version control.
Strong organisational skills.
Attention to detail and good numerical skills.
Communicates positively with colleagues and can build effective relationships.
Shows initiative and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of CNC machinery and/or production of cutting sheets preferred.
Solid Service manufacturing experience would be desirable.
