Mechanical CAD Technician | Industrial Equipment
Staffordshire | £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience + benefits 37.5 hours a week with an early Friday finish
Do you enjoy turning a rough sketch or a set of site measurements into drawings a workshop can build from? Pure Talent Group is recruiting a Mechanical CAD Technician for an engineering business that delivers industrial equipment projects for manufacturing sites.
You’ll work with engineers, project managers and workshop teams to turn agreed designs into the drawings people use to price, fabricate and install equipment. Your work will range from showing how equipment fits into a factory to detailing individual parts and assemblies.
What you’ll be doing
Create and update 2D technical drawings and 3D models for industrial equipment projects.
Produce factory layouts, equipment positioning plans and detailed fabrication and assembly drawings.
Use site measurements, supplier drawings and engineers’ sketches to develop accurate, usable drawing packs.
Keep drawing revisions up to date and put together parts lists and bills of materials when needed.
Check dimensions and tolerances, and flag discrepancies to the engineering team before drawings are issued. What we’re looking for
Experience producing mechanical CAD drawings for manufacturing, fabrication or industrial equipment projects.
Confidence with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
The ability to interpret technical information and produce clear drawings that workshop and installation teams can use.
