We’re on the lookout for a CAD Design Engineer to join a highly reputable engineering firm at their site based in Hull.
In this role the successful candidate will formulate quotations, create cost estimates from engineering drawings, and identify cost-effective manufacturing processes, while working closely with suppliers and internal teams.

* £35,000 - £40,000 per year
* Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am – 12:00pm

What will you be doing as a CAD Design Engineer?
* Formulating quotations and creating estimate costs from CAD or engineering drawings
* Identifying cost-effective process routes for manufacturing components
* Working within a team of 3 estimators, including on-site sales and engineer support
* Developing programming skills for nesting and punching machines
* Reviewing RFQs and engineering drawings
* Communicating and negotiating with suppliers for subcontract costs
* Preparing cost sheets for individual components and assemblies
* Assisting with production components and material preparation
* Supporting business/costing queries through ERP system reviews
What do you need?
* Time served as an apprentice or a recognised engineering qualification
* 3d SolidWorks experience
* Sheet metal experience
* Amada software experience (desirable)
* Previous experience working on projects and liaising with clients
