CAD/CAM Engineer
* Gateshead
* Permanent staff position
* Four day working week, Mon to Thu
* Salary bracket: £40,000 – £46,000 a year
* 33 days’ holiday (inc bank holidays)
A specialist manufacturing business in Gateshead is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer to join their engineering department.
You primarily be responsible for developing manufacturing processes, creating CNC programs, and supporting NPI and lean activity across the company.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Creating designs & CNC programs using CAD/CAM
* Producing 3D models & graphics, utilising software such as Rhino, Adobe Illustrator and SolidWorks
* Supporting new product introduction from concept through to production.
* Developing manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and setup instructions.
* Driving continuous improvement activities focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
* A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
* Proven experience in a CAD/CAM or manufacturing Engineer role.
* Knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros 3D
* Experience generating CNC programs.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
