Description:
Our client is currently recruiting a Cable Jointer in the Suffolk area. We are looking for candidates who have previously worked in a similar position.
The person appointed to the role shall be working on LV connections to DNO/IDNO networks associated with unmetered supplies, generally in the public highway or utilities environment. It is important to note that this is a physically demanding role and will involve working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Duties will include:
* Looking after all equipment that has been issued for their use and ensuring that it is used correctly for its intended purpose.
* Complying with safety instructions, working procedures, risk assessments permits to work and reporting procedures.
* Decision Making – Required to frequently exercise independent judgement to specific to the technical responsibilities below.
* Health and Safety – Responsible for their own H&S and the H&S of any person who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Looking after and not misusing anything provided in the interest of health and safety or for welfare purposes. Setting a personal example in the workplace by wearing correctly the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Relevant Experience
* A minimum of 2 year’s proven experience as an LV cable jointer in the utilities sector within contracting industry.
* Demonstrate experience and be conversant with all aspects of cable jointing on distribution networks associated with unmetered supplies.
Training & Qualifications
* Basic Health and Safety (ECS HE version H&S test) – (Essential)
* Current UK driving license – (Essential)
* Hold relevant authorisation to work on DNO networks as a cable jointer – (Essential).
* Evidenced training in avoiding danger from underground services – (Desirable), company specific training will be provided.
* Experience and evidence of competence specific to the role should be readily available – (Essential).
