C++ Software Engineer / Developer

A hugely exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join a start-up in Cambridge, and transition into the cutting-edge and futuristic area of quantum computing. Working across the stack, we are looking for a software professional proficient in C++ or Rust, who understands the mechanics of how hardware executes software instructions.

This forward-thinking, highly diverse company welcomes applicants requiring part-time working.

Location: Cambridge, UK – hybrid working, 3 days in office.

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum.

Requirements for C++ Software Engineer / Developer

* At least 2 years of commercial experience in a software engineering position

* Excellent academics including a 2.1 or 1st class honours STEM degree and at least AAB at A Level

* Proficient in C++ or Rust

* Scripting ability in Python

* While embedded engineering experience would be beneficial as a minimum you should have an understanding of the mechanics of how hardware executes software instructions

* Natural ability to quickly pick up and learn new technologies

* Great communication skills

Responsibilities for Software Engineer / Developer

* Develop and build software components

* Create functional and performance models of hardware for system design processes

* Verify and benchmark system correctness and performance

* Collaborate with teams across the business to understand the requirements of the systems
