Our client is a successful construction business with a national profile and continues to expand. They are a diverse, projects focused business, spanning across Industrial, Commercial, and Residential. They are seeking motivated individuals to join their team to continue the forward momentum.
Opportunity:
The role involves overseeing procurement processes, including negotiating supplier rates, generating budget reports, managing plant equipment, resolving disputes, and assisting with material quantity take-offs.
Responsibilities:
* Establish supplier relationships and negotiate rates to optimize commercial purchasing efficiencies.
* Generate monthly or projectend budgetary control reports for all materials purchased for each site, comparing Tender Budget to Actual.
* Procure and hire necessary plant equipment onsite, such as cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes, and transportation.
* Analyze the duration of plant hire versus purchasing, assessing costvalue benefits.
* Manage all NVCowned plant and produce weekly plant movement reports.
* Resolve disputes between suppliers and the company, as well as account queries unresolved through standard procedures.
* Purchase PPE, stationary, and other necessary items.
* Provide monthly procurement reports to senior management.
* Assist in material quantity takeoffs from drawings and develop schedules of rates for procurement as needed.
* Aid the QS department in obtaining pretender quotations and resolving material specification issues.
Candidate Requirements:
* Knowledgeable about current pricing levels.
* Competency in construction techniques, building standards, environmental, and disability standards.
* Skilled in negotiation and communication.
* Familiar with Health & Safety requirements.
* Computer literate with strong numeracy skills.
Remuneration:
As an indication salary will be in the range of €50,000-€65,000. Additional benefits available and will be agreed with the successful candidate during final discussions.
