Description:
We are delighted to represent a prestigious, multinational manufacturing organisation in their appointment of a Buyer working on several key projects to galvanise sourcing strategies for an electronic/electromechanical product range, working with a diverse international supplier base.
The buyer will act as a lead on the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, working hand in glove with the materials team to ensure robust plans for sourcing goods in a sustainable and timely manner, and ultimately a positive customer and supplier experience, and optimum financial performance.
Key skills
* CIPS qualified or equivalent degree level qualification - OR working towards CIPS
* Professional procurement specialist with previous experience as a buyer in an complex multilayered component engineering or manufacturing setting
* Previous experience in sourcing in the following categories – metalwork, electronics, electrical components, chemicals – would be useful
* Experience in sourcing, and auditing suppliers, formulating sound agreements and with understanding of contract law
* Previously involved in procurement on an international scale with knowledge of global markets
* Strong commercial acumen, highly numerate and with superb negotiation skills
* Some travel to other EMEA locations will be required on an infrequent basis

This role will be based in Littlehampton and is mainly office based with one day per week home working if preferred.
