Description:
My client is an award-winning business looking to recruit a Buyer to join the team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong procurement experience within food, retail or foodservice.
Role:
* To improve commercial value within the supply chain reviewing a range of food and non-food categories
* Execute a range of strategies to review an agreed range of categories
* Analyse spend data from various data sources as required
* Use best in class procurement skills and systems to negotiate commercial value and exceed budgeted targets
* Build supplier relationships to develop supply chain performance for both contracted and sub-contractor provision
* Develop stakeholder engagement across the business and supplier base aligned
* Promote and drive sustainable supply chain initiatives and targets
Responsibilities:
* Support the overall business growth strategy
* Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across our teams to ensure the procurement function meets the objectives of teams and support functions
* Support the procurement function to manage supplier performance, developing relationships to ensure a sustainable supply chain across the business
* Use MI, data analysis and in-sight from our ERP and business specific platforms to leverage commercial and efficiency savings for in-year and annualised savings targets
* Create value optimisation on sourcing activity plans utilising SRM and ecommerce portals
* Mitigate risk within the supply chain through supplier audit activity and Business Continuity Plans
* Compliance with procurement policy, processes and procedures
* Support client and bid pipeline, implementing procurement initiatives from initial bid stage onwards
Candidate
* Demonstrable sourcing and category buying experience, ideally within the food, foodservice or retail supply chain markets
* Commercial acumen in line with business scale and spend
* Proven, solid influencing and negotiation skills
* Stakeholder management and personal development experience
* First class personal, written and verbal communication skills
* Experienced analytical skills, ideally aligned to e-commerce experience and knowledge
* On trend with market insight and developing food trends across a range of sectors
