Our client is a leading provider of drylining and suspended ceiling solutions, specialising in high-quality projects for commercial, residential, and industrial clients.

Due to growth of the business, our client is seeking a skilled Buyer to join their team and contribute to their procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working for a subcontractor within the construction industry, ideally with a strong understanding of drylining and suspended ceiling materials and suppliers.

*Junior candidates will also be considered.

Source and procure materials, supplies, and equipment required for refurbishment projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project schedules.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to secure favourable arrangements and cost savings.
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to understand project requirements and ensure accurate and timely procurement of materials.
Evaluate supplier performance, including quality, reliability, and responsiveness, and address any issues or concerns as needed.
Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and new product offerings to make informed purchasing decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies and policies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.Position Requirements - Buyer

Previous experience working for a subcontractor in the construction industry - drylining/suspended ceiling experience would be a plus.
Proven track record in procurement, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
