Adecco are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a well-established manufacturing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who is looking to take ownership of supplier relationships, contracts, and category management within a fast-paced industrial environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the effective sourcing of goods and services, delivering commercial value, managing supplier performance, and supporting business objectives through strategic procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers, ensuring quality, reliability, and value for money.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms to achieve the best outcomes for the business.
Provide commercial support and procurement expertise to internal stakeholders.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from initial enquiry through to contract award and supplier management.
Take ownership of assigned contracts and procurement categories.
Lead commercial discussions, contract negotiations, reviews, and renewals.
Develop category strategies and identify the most appropriate suppliers to meet business requirements.
Conduct supplier due diligence, including capability assessments, compliance checks, and performance evaluations.
Ensure procurement deadlines are met and avoid out-of-contract spend through effective planning and supplier engagement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to maximise performance and service delivery.
Resolve supplier issues promptly and escalate where necessary.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement meetings.
Provide constructive feedback and drive supplier development initiatives.
Identify supply chain risks and implement contingency plans, particularly for single-source suppliers.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Monitor supplier compliance with relevant certifications and accreditations.
Coordinate and complete annual supplier performance appraisals with key internal stakeholders.
Review contracts and supplier agreements to ensure legal and commercial compliance.Essential

Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role.
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated experience in supplier management and relationship building.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
Sound understanding of contractual terms, legal compliance, and procurement best practice.
