About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our global client in Crumlin. This role is pivotal in managing purchasing activities for prototype and production projects, ensuring that all project requirements are met by sourcing, negotiating, and procuring critical materials for our innovative designs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Management: Oversee purchasing activities on customer projects, ensuring critical timings are understood and met.

* Supplier Relations: Request and analyze supplier quotations, raise purchase orders, and maintain good relationships with suppliers.

* Negotiation: Negotiate pricing and lead times to secure the best value.

* Inventory Management: Manage and maintain adequate stock levels using the SAGE 200 MRP system.

* Collaboration: Communicate effectively with suppliers and the project team about lead times, pricing, and delivery dates.

* Support Functions: Assist the Procurement Lead in developing suppliers and support the Quality Manager in supplier audits.

* Contract Management: Ensure annual contracts are controlled and timely negotiations are conducted.

* Technical Coordination: Facilitate technical discussions with suppliers and engineering to ensure part feasibility.

Ideal Candidate:

* Experience: Minimum 3 years in purchasing, preferably in an engineering/manufacturing environment.

* Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Competent in conveying technical requirements.

* Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of commercial principles.

* Qualifications: CIPS accreditation is desirable but not mandatory. Computer literacy, especially in Word, Excel, and Sage 200.

* Flexibility: Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities. Valid UK Driving Licence and Passport, with willingness to travel globally.
