On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Buyer to join them on a contract basis until the end of December 2024. The role holder will be performing strategic procurement activities, with a trans-national and trans-divisional approach. You will be accountable for Procurement Lead and Procurement Support roles.

Role: Buyer
Pay: £37.04ph via Umbrella
Location: Filton- Hybrid working, 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH
Hours: Monday- Friday, 35 hrs/ week
Contract: Until 31/12/2024, likely to be extended.
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS+ SC Clearance

Procurement Lead Role

Management and execution of the procurement strategy for some improvement projects aligned with the Fuel MDT (Multi-Divisional and Multi-functional team dedicated to Fuel scope), including the relationship management with associated key-stakeholders; similar activities to be conducted on Energy scope, on demand.
Use General Procurement tools in the process to support CFTs including in particular: Sourcing / tender tool, Contract tool, and Purchase order system.
Manage internal alignment and approvals of internal key milestones with the General Procurement organisation.
Ensure that deliverables can be managed and driven by implementation of contractual terms (cost, time, quality and associated Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Secure effective commercial relationship with suppliers to secure work with best-in-class suppliers and protect Airbus from contractual risks.
Through effective execution of the projects deliver Airbus key objectives.
Procurement Support role

Support MDT reviews and workshops, understand and contribute towards project objectives.
Support international and cross-divisional CFT's during preparation, negotiations, selection and contracting phases.
Specific objectives as included in the lead role above as agreed with Project Procurement lead.
Creation and administration of tenders utilising Airbus CFT and Sourcing tools.
Facilitate, coordination and support MDT and Supplier engagements.
Collection, distribution and analysis of tender bidder proposal material.
Contribution towards creation of documents supporting Steering reviews, Milestone gate approvals, Final approvals.
Facilitate and coordinate key Supplier reviews.
Main Activities:

Execute and support procurement strategy in the improvement projects for which the jobholder is responsible Procurement lead or support role. Execution to include A-Z implementation of Procurement process from Strategy deployment, (support to) CFT development, negotiations to contract sign off.
Ensure validation by the relevant MFT and following implementation of such category's strategies.
Drive compliant Airbus General Procurement processes in the framework of the category's strategies, scope of sub-commodity, for the Airbus sites covered by GP (General Procurement), to avoid legal risks.
Provide guidance, strategies update and process information to Business Operations to ensure correct execution of transactional procurement activities aligned with the categories` strategies to meet customer satisfaction.
Participate in the definition of sub-commodity and commodity trans-national, trans-divisional procurement strategies by providing benchmark actions and projects.
Support preparation, execution and evaluation of Call for Tenders
Support the MDT Leader in the governance of the programme consisting of several sourcing projects.
Outputs

Improvement projects and CFT are delivered on time, on quality and within budget, in compliance with category strategy objectives.
Procurement support roles are delivered according to agreed objectives.
Efficient, controlled and developed supply chain with trans-national supplier panels and competitive bidder lists in line with category procurement strategy.
Trans-national and/ or trans-divisional supplier contracts are properly negotiated and managed based on GP contract policy with the objective to reduce risks to Airbus.
Internal Customers' satisfaction continuous improvement.
Proper and adequate communication/reporting.
Corporate Instructions and Processes are known and followed to ensure compliance and reduce risk.

Professional skills:

Excellent (project) leadership skills to motivate cross-functional project teams in situations of often conflicting objectives (internal customer, supplier, budget)
Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation, persuasion skills
Good knowledge about procurement contracts
Ideally experience in indirect procurement categories
Strong business analytical skills (business case studies, financial KPI …)
Good communication and influencing skills
Good conflict management and conflict resolving skills
Good organisation skills
3 to 5 years of experience, preferably within procurement
Experience in leading MFT and improvement projects for procurement.
