Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client, an established international engineering and manufacturing business, to recruit a Buyer for their local operation.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your procurement experience within a collaborative environment, supporting purchasing, inventory and supplier activity across an international supply chain. You’ll have the scope to build your knowledge, contribute ideas and work alongside colleagues across different functions and locations.

The Opportunity:
As a Buyer you’ll play a key role in:

Managing day-to-day purchasing activity, including supplier communication, purchase orders and inventory transfers.
Supporting demand planning for stocked parts using MRP, stock levels and other available data.
Coordinating the purchase of third-party products, equipment, MRO requirements and indirect spend.
Monitoring orders and working with suppliers and internal teams to support on-time delivery and project budgets.
Collaborating with Logistics and wider supply chain colleagues while identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can bring:

Around 1 to 3 years of relevant purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel at basic to intermediate level.
An understanding of ERP systems. SAP experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
A practical, resourceful approach with strong attention to detail and the confidence to take initiative.
Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders. You don’t need to meet every desirable point to be considered. If you have relevant purchasing experience, enjoy solving problems and are keen to continue developing your skills, we’d be pleased to hear from you. An interest in developing your Power BI knowledge would also be welcomed.
