Job Type: Contract – Up to 6 months
Salary: £33,000 per annum / £16.27 per hour
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8am - 5pm & Friday 8am – 1pm
We have a new opening for a Global Manufacturer for a Buyer to join their team of 6 on a contract up to 6 months.
Within this role you will be you will be supporting the Purchasing Manager to manage the supplier orders and relationships, and ensuring they always have the product required to keep the manufacturing process moving.
Key duties will include;
* Processing purchase orders to meet delivery schedules
* Providing weekly updates on supplier open orders
* Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products
* Sourcing of new suppliers, evaluating quality, price, delivery, and service
* Maintaining supplier relationships and driving improvement where required
The successful applicant will possess;
* Proven experience in a Purchasing / Procurement / Buying role
* Experience in the manufacturing / engineering environment
* PC literate with experience of using Excel, word and CRM / ERP systems
* Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles
* Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
