This is a role with clear progression and career development opportunities for the right individual.
As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management activities within the business and drive the cost-effective acquisition of products. You will be sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods ensuring that quality, lead-times and pricing are effective against business objectives.
As the Buyer, you will be responsible for:
* Supplier Management – identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers and ensuring strong relationships are built to allow for effective negotiations.
* Managing Purchase order process – ensure accurate and effective process whilst tracking and monitoring order statuses, raising, placing and expediting purchase orders. Working to ensure any backorders/backlogs are managed in order to achieve customer OTIF.
* Cost control – manage purchasing spend through effective negotiating around price / quantities and quality.
* Arranging Freight with non-UK suppliers.
* Staying abreast of market trends and developments that will effect supply chain/ pricing.
* Evaluating supply chain and mitigating risks.
We are looking for someone who:
* Wants an opportunity to grow and develop their procurement career.
* Has previous experience in a Buyer role or significant experience as a Purchasing Assistant / Assistant Buyer / role and ready to take the next step.
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to fact-find, negotiate, and query where necessary.
* Strong IT Skills and experience with an MRP/ERP system and excellent knowledge of MS Excel.
