Description:
Caddy Group are looking for an experienced Buyer for our growing Constrcution client in Kent.
* Support the procurement team with the purchasing of materials, equipment and services across projects.
* Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and value.
* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
* Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules.
* Monitor orders from placement through to delivery, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal project teams.
* Maintain accurate procurement records, ensuring all purchasing documentation is up to date.
* Assist with material management and ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and programme dates.
What We’re Looking For:
* An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and trusting relationships.
* Previous experience within a buying, procurement or purchasing environment.
* Experience within the construction, mechanical and electrical trades would be advantageous.
* Strong negotiation and commercial awareness skills.
* Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
* Forward-thinking and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* 4+ years' experience in a buying or procurement role.
* Competent user of standard programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Good organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
